Validation isn't always a bad thing and in many cases it occurs out of our need feel connected and confident. Many people need external validation because it feels and "looks" better then someone tooting their own horn.
Check your need for validation and identify if its from a healthy place or not. If not take time to identify the underlying reasons and work from there.
